After an abortion, many people can experience a wide range of emotions, such as anger, regret, grief, and loneliness. Often these emotions can be tough to deal with and difficult to discuss. It is important to reach out if you find yourself struggling after an abortion. For some, these emotions may be present immediately after the abortion, while for others, it may be years or decades before the emotions stir.
If you’ve had an abortion at any time in your life and are struggling to move forward, or you are having difficulty understanding or processing the emotions that you are facing, we are here to help without judgment. We are here to provide a safe place for you and to find the best resources available for your needs.
Below, you will find information on compassionate resources both locally and nationally for anyone seeking healing after an abortion. You’ll find services like counseling, retreats, support groups, and hotlines that provide a space for emotional healing and processing your feelings. Our goal is to promote reconciliation and healing to women, men, and families that have been impacted by abortion. You matter, and your life has value. Please utilize these resources to find support, hope, and a new path forward after abortion.
If you have further questions or would like to chat with someone locally who has been impacted by abortion, contact us and we will connect you with one of our members who has also experienced an abortion. You can reach us via our contact us page. Your call or email will be held strictly confidential. If you need immediate assistance and would like to speak to a counselor, call 888-820-8274.

Memorial for the Unborn
Dubuque County Right To Life believes that every human life matters regardless of the length of that life. To remember those whose lives were cut short through abortion, miscarriage, or stillbirth, we have a memorial stone for loved ones to place the name(s) of their child(ren) at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Key West. For more information on the Memorial, click here.

Surrounded by Love Conference
One of the functions of Dubuque County Right To Life is to create awareness about Post-Abortion Syndrome (PAS). In the Surrounded by Love Conference, one of our members, Kathy Slinger, goes deeper into what’s happening inside the hurting post-abortive mother or father and how someone might help her or him heal. To learn more about an upcoming session, check the calendar or contact us.
