Sara Brehm, Vice Chairman
Mrs. Brehm was born and raised in Iowa. She attended Northeast Iowa Community College, where she received her Associate Degree in Nursing. She has served in a variety of professional areas including Pediatrics and Post Surgery.
She and her husband, Mike, have been married for 16 years and have 6 children. They reside in Peosta, Iowa. Mrs. Brehm has been active at St. John the Baptist Church by serving on the Parish Council and Rosary Society. She has also been active on her Parish Respect Life Committee, heading numerous pro-life activities.
Mrs. Brehm is currently a member of our Speaker's Bureau. She will speak on any life topics, but she prefers to speak on chemical (contraceptives) abortifacients. She served as President of Dubuque County Right To Life, Inc.'s Board of Directors in 1995 and 1996. She has been associated with the pro-life movement since 1987.

Mike Meyer, Secretary
Mike Meyer and his wife, Judy have three children and two grandchildren. Both have been active members of Nativity parish since 1980. Mike formerly served on the Nativity Board of Education and the Finance Committee. He is now Treasurer of Nativity's Boy Scout Troop 10.
Mike attended Wahlert High School and graduated from The University of Iowa in 1980.
He is a registered Investment Executive at Dubuque Bank & Trust. Mike is Co-chairman of the Dubuque County Republican Party. He is also active in the Dubuque Rotary Club, the Divine Word College F.A.N. Club and a volunteer reading assistant at Prescott Elementary School.

Jim Giese, Treasurer
Jim Giese was born and raised in Dubuque, having attended Holy Trinity grade school and Wahlert High School . After serving in the U. S. Navy as a radarman, he attended Loras College and the University of Iowa , where he received a B.A. degree in economics in 1971. He married Cathy Conlon in 1975 and they have three grown children, Mike, who is pursuing an acting career in New York, Dan, who works with Jim in the family business, and Carolyn, who works for Cintas Corporation in Denver, Colorado.
After doing some construction work and sales for Sears & Roebuck, he became manager of Giese Roofing Company, a family owned business. In 1981 he left that company to start his own business, Jim Giese Commercial Roofing Co.
Jim has been involved with numerous community boards and professional associations throughout his career in the roofing industry.
He plays golf and sometimes enjoys it. He enjoys daily workouts and noon pick-up basketball at the Dubuque Boy’s and Girl’s Club. Recently he became a grandfather with the birth of Lily Giese, daughter of Mike and Shannon, and looks forward to many visits to New York to visit her.

Arthur F. Gilloon, Board Member
Mr. Gilloon is a partner in the Dubuque law firm of Norman, Gilloon, Wright & Hamel, P.C. He is a 1975 honors graduate of the University of Notre Dame and a 1978 graduate of the University of Iowa College of Law. He is licensed to practice law in the State and Federal Courts in Iowa, the State Courts of Wisconsin, the 8th Circuit Court of Appeals, and the United States Supreme Court.
Mr. Gilloon was a founding Board member of Dubuque County Right To Life, Inc., and is a member of Dubuque County Right To Life's Speaker's Bureau. He speaks on a wide variety of topics related to life issues. He has also served on the Boards of several Dubuque area community organizations.
He was the first President of the Dubuque County Mental Health/Mental Retardation/ Developmental Disabilities Advisory Board, and served as Treasurer of the Dubuque Visiting Nurse Association Foundation Board. For 10 years he was a member of The Finley Hospital Ethics Committee. He also serves as a legal advisor to Birthright of Dubuque, Inc. Mr. Gilloon has also served as DCRTL's President, Vice-President, Treasurer, and Secretary.
He has taught religious education classes for 15 years and also coached girls' basketball at the YWCA for 5 years.

Dennis Mai, Board Member
Member of DCRTL for 20+ years. Formerly associated with the American Red Cross Tri-States, the Dubuque Jaycees, and Knights of Columbus Council 510.
Mr. Mai has a Bachelor of Arts degree with a Major in Accounting and is a Certified Public Accountant.
Cultural relativism, ethical emotivism, and moral autonomy: The secularist contra vitam agenda has made these items principle.

Rev. Richard Schaefer, Board Member
The Reverend Richard L. Schaefer is a graduate of Marquette High School in Bellevue, Loras College on Dubuque and the Catholic University of Louvain in Belgium . He did post-graduate work on Theology at Marquette University in Milwaukee.
During his first priestly assignment at St. Anthony in Dubuque, he also taught junior high religion and sophomore religion at Wahlert High School. His specialties at St. Thomas Aquinas in Ames were marriage preparation, campus ministry and team writing of a nationally-distributed weekly homily-liturgy service.
His 20 years of service of teaching theology at Loras College included one term as Chair of the Division of Religious Studies and Philosophy. As a archdiocesan censor, he has processed and edited several thousand books so far.
Currently he is hospital chaplain at Mercy Hospital in Dubuque.

Ann M. Williams, Ph. D., Board Member
Dr. Williams was born and raised in Carroll, Iowa. She attended Creighton University, where she obtained a B.A. in Psychology and Theology. Subsequently, she obtained a M.A. and Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Her areas of specialty include child and adolescent internalizing disorders as well as eating disorders. Dr. Williams completed a residency in Clinical Psychology at the Children’s Hospitals and Clinics of Minneapolis, and, thereafter, completed a postdoctoral fellowship in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at the Stanford University Medical School in Palo Alto, California. Following completion of her training, Dr. Williams served as Assistant Professor of Psychology at Notre Dame de Namur University (NDNU) in Belmont, California, as well as Consulting Assistant Professor in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at the Stanford University Medical School. While at NDNU, Dr. Williams was the faculty advisor to the NDNU Students for Life group.
Dr. Williams is married to Dr. Clark Williams, an E.R. Physician at Mercy Hospital in Dubuque. She and her husband have a one year-old daughter, Judith, and are expecting a baby boy in October of 2008. Dr. Williams enjoys spending time with her family, reading, and playing the piano. She is a parish member and piano accompanist at St. Columbkille’s Catholic Church in Dubuque, Iowa.

Leon Jensen, Board Member
Leon Jensen was raised in Fremont, Nebraska where he graduated from Fremont Senior High School and Midland Lutheran College. He also graduated from Worsham College of Mortuary Science and is funeral director with Egelhof, Siegert & Casper Funeral Homes.
Leon is a member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church and a board member of Our Redeemer Lutheran pre-school. He is also a member of the Dubuque Rotary Club and the Dubuque County Republican Party Central Committee.
Leon is married to the former Mary McCormick and has one daughter, Anna, and two step daughters, Theresa and Megan.

Dr. Staci McKeon, Board Member
Dr. McKeon was born and raised in Clarkston , Michigan. She graduated from Alma College in Alma , Michigan in 1997 with a B.S. in Biochemistry and a BA with Honors in English. She then attended the College of Human Medicine at Michigan State University (MSU), graduating in 2002 with her MD. Her residency in Family Medicine was completed in 2005 through the Kalamazoo Center for Medical Studies of MSU. It was there that she met her husband, Mark, who completed his residency in Emergency Medicine there in 2004. They married in 2004 and have 2 young vibrant daughters who keep their parents on their toes. Mark was born and raised in Dubuque , and it was here that they chose to raise their growing family. Staci is an Acute Care Physician at Medical Associates East Campus. Mark is an Emergency Physician at Mercy Medical Center.

Steven N. Brody, Executive Director
Steven Brody was born and raised in Southern California. He is a 1988 graduate of UCLA with a B.A. degree in Political Science, and a 1993 graduate with honors from American College of Law with a J.D. degree.
Steven worked in the California State Assembly as a Field Representative, Press Secretary, and worked on numerous political campaigns. He hosted a live call-in public affairs program on KUCI radio for 2 1⁄2 years, and then hosted a public affairs television program for 7 years that aired on Time Warner and Comcast Cable throughout Orange County, CA.
Steven and his wife Barbara have been married since 1997 and have six children. They attend Grace Bible Church in Mineral Point, WI, and have been active in the pro-life movement, both in California, and now in Wisconsin.
In his spare time, Steven is Chairman of the Republican Party of Iowa County, WI, Secretary of the 3rd congressional District GOP, and is Webelos Den Leader for Cub Scout Pack 357 in Dodgeville, WI.

Colleen Pasnik, Executive Assistant
Colleen received a B.S. degree in Psychology from the University of Iowa in 1986 and a Masters of Counseling Education from North Carolina State University in 1995. She has counseled women suffering from post-abortion syndrome, victims of domestic violence, and Hospice patients and their families.
